Our Youth Groups

Edgebrook Covenant Church - On Saturday, October 20 about 40 high school youth from several North Side Covenant Churches gathered at Hamming Hall, NPU for the first ever Collision event. The evening’s events consisted of  music, games, prizes, worship, testimony, a photo scavenger hunt, and an offering designated for Heifer International. The purpose of this and other events is to bring Covenant youth together to grow spiritually and have a safe, fun place to bring friends who may or may not have a church home.  More events are being planned for 2008, so if you are interested in working with this committee please see Pastor Greg for more information.

Jesus Style, a triennial weekend event meant to gather, disciple, entertain and equip youth in biblical truths for interaction with their faith, their world, and their future is being held November 16-18 in Green Lake, WI. Several students are planning on attending.

Check out the church website for the calendars of High League and eXtreme meeting dates and events.  They're located in the right-hand column on every page!

Extreme students (6-8 grades) held their “kick-off” event on Friday, September 28 at the “Putting Edge” mini golf in Norridge. The group returned to church to make ice cream  sundaes. This group will meet on Friday evenings from 7–8:30 PM at church.

Sunday school classes are in full swing with offerings for all age groups.  Classes typically meet the first, second, and third Sunday of each month following worship at 11:20 AM.  Our confirmation class meets a little earlier at 11:00 AM.

Sunday Night Youth Group
This is a weekly event usually held from 6:00-8:00 PM at the church.  A typical night includes relationship-building activities with one another and with the triune God.  These activities often include high energy games, crazy stunts, wacked-out mixers, worship songs, times for praise and prayer, small group interaction, intriguing topical lessons, and motivating  discussions.  Time and place for the meeting may change.

Other Activities
In addition to regularly posted meetings, there are a variety of other activities throughout the year.  There are occasional excursions to fun spots, retreats, and other get-away experiences that encourage students to grow in relationship with one another, with God, and with broader world around them.  These include occasional service opportunities.  Small groups also meet from time to time in order to connect relationally on a smaller level and encourage one another on their life’s journey together with God.  Those who are middle school age are invited to participate in the confirmation program led by Pastor Greg Mesimore.
